Last Minute Christmas Candles

Well it is the time of the year when we turn our creative thoughts to the festive season, and X-Press It Mask It has many applications, today's project is all about great applications for glitter at Christmas time.

What you will need:

X-Press It Mask It Sheets

  • Low tack, flexible masking film
  • Soft peel, removes without residue
  • Matt finish - can be drawn on
  • Idea for airbrushing, painting, stencilling and drawing applications
  • Can be cut by hand or with a blade
  • Great for manual die cutting

Step 1: Cut letters from X-Press It Mask It Sheet using a steel die.

Step 2: Add letter masks directly to the candle, because the X-Press It Mask It is so flexible the letters will sway nicely around the curve of any surface.

Step 3: Swipe a thin application of X-Press It TripleTac to the outer surface of the candle, wipe right over the masked letter to make sure the glitter sticks all the way to the edge of the negative space that will be created by the mask.

Step 4: Roll the candles in a pool of X-Press It Micro Fine Glitter, choose one colour for your set of candles and bring a rainbow of colours to your project, the choice is yours.

Step 5: Carefully peel back the mask and set it aside for future use. Mask It can be put straight to use where you have a double letter in a word like we do here with two r's in Merry, or stored for use over and over again.

Continue adding glitter to your candles until your word is complete.

The possibilities of what you could spell out are really endless, if you are already good and ready for Christmas, you could look to the New Year and make yourself a set of candles or a sign with 2016 as the feature, or a sentiment that suits your style of celebrations. Add scrolls or shapes using the same method to mask out your negative space, overlay one layer of X-Press It Micro Fine glitter with another, the applications are waiting for your own creative twist.
