Personalised Recipe Book

It's hard to believe the holiday season is almost here! Other than being crafty the other thing we like to do over the holiday season is cook!

 What you will need:

  • X-Press It Transfer Adhesive Sheets
  • X-Press It Mixed Media Journal
  • X-Press It Tape Runner
  • X-Press It Metal Leaf
  • X-Press It Gold Size
  • X-Press It Foam Mounting Sheets
  • Chipboard die cut
  • Paint Brushes
  • Scissors
  • Printer

Step 1: Design and print out your recipe book title on a piece of blending card. You can personalise this by adding your name. If you do not want to digitally print out the text you can hand letter the text. Cut this to the correct size to fit on the cover of your mixed media journal, use the tape runner to stick down.

Step 2: Coat your chipboard die cuts with a thin layer of gold size. Make sure to leave it to get a bit tacky before applying any metal leaf. Delicately place Metal Leaf onto the area where you have applied the Gold Size. Once covered with Metal Leaf, use a clean, soft brush to dust off the excess leaf very delicately.

Step 3: Pull back the thin liner of the Transfer Adhesive Sheets and position the back of your chipboard die cut onto the adhesive. Apply pressure and rub the back firmly to transfer the adhesive. Remove the die cut chipboard from the adhesive & place the die cut on top of your journal.

Step 4: We had used a die cut that was two layers. With the second layer we used foam mounting squares to give our recipe book a 3D effect. You could also use this with your dies cuts.
